Trillion Partners Inc.
Ah -- New Years -- this is always a time of reflection on the past year and looking forward and anticipating what the New Year may bring. At one time or another, I’m certain all of us have said to ourselves, “This is it…I am making a New Year’s Resolution!” Popular resolutions are to quit smoking, exercise more, lose weight, live a healthier lifestyle, save more money, increase charitable contributions or dedicate more time to those we hold dear.
This year, I encourage each and every NATE Member to add the following resolution to your list: “I resolve to do everything in my power to set an example of Safety First...Safety Always in all aspects of my life.”
By “walking the walk” and not just “talking the talk”, each of us can make a difference in the number of industry accidents in 2007. NATE offers a number of ways to encourage safe behavior:
• Use NATE Safety & Educational Resources - Videos, booklets, industry standards and flip cards are all available to NATE Members.
• Display Your Complimentary NATE Safety Posters - NATE has produced 12 vibrant posters with messages to reinforce safe behavior and promote safety.
• Hold Regular Tailgate Meetings - Need some ideas for tailgate meeting topics? Tower Times magazine features a different safety topic each month.
• Review and Update Your Safety Program - Use the NATE Safety Program Guide as the foundation for developing your own company safety program.
• Take Advantage of Training Opportunities - Up to 5 employees per company can sign up for the complimentary OSHA 10-Hour Course during NATE 2007.
• Apply and Participate in the NATE/OSHA National Partnership - The National Partnership is a milestone for the Association and provides members with another avenue to demonstrate their commitment to safety. Applications will be accepted until February 28, 2007 for the 2007 NATE/ OSHA National Partnership.
• Attend Educational Sessions During the 2007 Annual NATE Conference & Exposition - Two tracks of focused educational sessions will be offered, including Tower Hand and Management. Bring your employees and reap the benefits of both tracks.
• Meet With the NATE 2007 Exhibitors and Discuss Their Products - The exhibitor profile is extensive, with many products designed to play a part in bringing you and your crew home safely each day.
By making this New Year’s resolution, whenever you read or hear the NATE safety campaign slogan Safety First…Safety Always! Are you doing your part?, you will be able to answer with confidence, “Yes, I am doing my part”.
I am sincerely looking forward to next month in Nashville when I will have the opportunity to visit with old NATE friends and meet our new members in person. Until then…please be safe.
