Chairman’s Message
I recently received a call from an OSHA compliance officer who had observed a company allowing employees to “ride the line” without full body harnesses and using an old, friction-type hoist.

Membership Committee Update
First of all I would like to add my personal welcome to the newest member of NATE:
Hailo LLC
Another great NATE Summer Conference was held in Watertown, South Dakota and has renewed my impetus to keep our membership growing, and has left me thinking about how to keep giving our membership additional useful information.
I think back to what has made good tower service companies better and what has made strong tower service companies stronger.

OSHA Relations Committee Update
This year our semi-annual meeting was held in Watertown, South Dakota with a good committee turnout.
In the short time we reviewed and discussed the following:
ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Standards
This standard is going through a major change from the original Z359.1 to a group of standards including:
• Z359.0 Definitions;
• Z359.1 Safety Requirements for Personal Fall Arrest Systems, Subsystems and Components;
• Z359.2 Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program;
• Z359.3 Safety Requirements for Positioning and Travel Restraint Systems; and
• Z359.4 Safety Requirements for Assisted-Rescue and Self-Rescue Systems, Subsystem and Components.
This group of standards has gone through the process and is now ready for print and should be ready for publication by the ASSE by the end of August 2007.

Safety & Education Committee Update
Reflecting back on the NATE Summer Conference is a great feeling of accomplishment what our association has done.
